Illustrator - 26 letterforms


Using one letter from the designed alphabet, in the alphabet soup compress project, I had to design 26 visual variations in Illustrator:



I experimented with effects initially to get a grasp of different things I could create. Then I experimented more with angle, stroke, texture, arrangement, simplicity, fill, colour, remove/add things etc.

As an introduction to our second module we had to take photographs of 100 images falling under the following categories: OBJECTS, TEXTURES, PLACES, PEOPLE, WORDS. Below are my images:

Visual Language Photography 1/12/09, 15/12/09

In this session we were paired up and given a word, ours was 'plug socket', we had to then go out an take 100 pictures of the given word. Our style of photography had to have a rule to help fine tune what we were to capture. We chose to capture only part of the object, so maybe some images would be less clear as to what they were. Below are 25 of my favourite images:





Working from these photos I had to choose something within the photographs to focus on and go out in Leeds to photograph it, I decided to look at splashes of colour appearing on neutral backgrounds, here's what I captured:
